1. SET GOALS
Ask yourself what you really want to achieve in this new year that will make you happy and proud. Look deep within you and feel what is brewing inside and think out loud what you really desire in your mind. Begin today to set these goals in motion by writing each goal down and to also commit by purposefully taking at least 1 step toward reaching each of them.
2. READ MORE, REFLECT MORE
Create a personal reading …list of different kinds of books (self-help, leadership, business, non-fiction) you will be open to explore this year. Perhaps even go beyond the boundary of your favorite authors and try a new flavor, it will expound your territory. Now also begin to spend some time reflecting (thinking), what the key insights or lessons that you can take to apply it into your life.
3. JOURNAL AND KEEP TRACK
Write somewhere about what you are feeling each day, your experiences, your wins, your challenges, your affirmations, your amazing learning, your new insights, your wildest-imagination ideas, your personal messages to yourself and many more. When you Journal, you actually take a snapshot of that moment and release it into a tapestry within a timeline of your life. And best of all, you can always look (read) back and take pride (joy) of what you have achieved along the way, however small.
4. DO SOMETHING WILD AND CRAZY
Do something you’ve always wanted. Perhaps something that seems uncanny to you and what you’re commonly used to. Take up a new sport or hobby, try out something wild and crazy. Perhaps try out Canyoning or Scuba-diving or Art (Oil Painting). Create a small bucket list of 5 Wonderful New (Wild and Crazy) things that you would commit to do in 2014.
5. SLEEP, EAT, EXERCISE WELL
Research has shown that people who sleep well, eat well and exercise well… have higher productivity, lower stress and even the propensity to live healthier longer lives. How many hours are you sleeping each night? How many meals are you eating, and in the spectrum of colors with the right balance of carbs, proteins, vitamins and minerals?
How many times a week are you exercising and with a combination of cardio, muscle, core and resistance exercises? A great regimen will create a more lasting habit overtime.
6. CONNECT TO A SUPPORT GROUP/NETWORK
As connected beings, we all need others around us or sometimes by our side as we pursue to accomplish the greater and larger good. It is when connected with like-minded friends that further opportunities and innovation can spark out and be co-developed. The idea here about being connected is to have the opportunity to “give and add value” to the relationships within the support group/network. When you come ready to give, you will automatically receive back in other ways.
7. INVEST IN YOURSELF
Yes… when you decide to Invest in yourself, you truly mean business. If you are truly your very best asset, you’ve gotta give YOU all you’ve got. Invest yourself into a new course (even certification), conference, workshop or program, to help you get you where you want to be.
